Script URL: http://www.frameyourworld.com/php_uploa ... mboard.php
Version of script: 1.21
Version of PHP: 4.3.10
Hosting company: GoDaddy.com Linux Servers
Have you searched THIS FORUM for your problem: yes
(if not please do before posting)
If so, what terms did you try: errors; plus, I read all seeminly pertanent postings and threads

Write your message below:

I installed the script for mBoard earlier today, following the instructions carefully. However, when I tested the script I received the following both a warning and an error message indicating a failure in line 34 of the settings.php file. I personally, cannot find any problems with this line or any others.

With GoDaddy, I did have to install the script folder mboard under the folder php_uploads. This was the only exception that I know of. I have reinstalled the script in the main ftp folder rather than the php_uploads folder, but the message is the same.

I hope you can help. Let me know if there is anything else you might need from me.

Sincerely,
Eppie :?:

Yes, the settings.php file is in the same folder as the mboard.php file. They both are located in the mboard folder within the subfolder "php_uploads" in the ftp.

I made the necessary changes to the settings.php file in notepad. When I transfered the file into the ftp access the file had a .txt file attachment added. Could this be part of the problem? If so, how can I fix it. I tried saving the file in wordpad, but when I uploaded the file, it attached a .doc extension to the file. Of course, maybe this is supposed to happen and I'm fussing about nothing.

Again, thanks for the help.

Sincerely,
Eppie

Hi,

No, the file should be named EXACTLY settings.php , no .txt extension or any other. I would suggest you try editing the original settings.php file in Notepad rather than Wordpad since Notepad can only save lain text files (not .doc).

When you save/transfer the file via FTP and it still has .txt extension try renaming the file on your server - most FTP programs allow you to do that if you right-click on the file on the server in your FTP program.

Thanks,
Renaming the file did the trick. I'm still experiencing some problems, but I'm going to try to tackle them myself first.

Sincerely,
Eppie :)
