I'm trying to put message board on my site - but the "return to message board" link doesn't work. The URL comes up as shown in the subject line of this email - with "mboard.php" TWICE.

It should only say it once, right? How can this be fixed? Also, the images don't come up now.

When I first put it up, everything seemed to work right. Then I tried changing the size of the fonts - re-FTPed everything up - and since then everything's screwing up!

$settings['mboard_url']

in settings.php set to?

You probably have

$settings['mboard_url']='http://www.domain.com/mboard/mboard.php';

Change it to

$settings['mboard_url']='http://www.domain.com/mboard';

I have just installed the script and registered. Have the same problem as the previous writer. Have done what you sugegested but no improvement.

I am using MacOS 10.4 and the installation of the script went fine apart from this return function not working. I get similar message when i try to return to Ignite Revival Prayer Requests - "Requested URL/mboard/mboard.php was not found on this server additionally a 404 Not found erro was encountered.

web site is http://www.igniterevival.net/ and entering 'Prayer Requests' in the menu. The server is ftp.igniterevival.net and php 4.

I have struggled to get a forum going on the site which was designed by someone else and this seemed a dream solution for me. Stuart C

Hello,

Exactly to what value is set $settings['mboard_url'] in your settings file? Note that you should change the value to reflect the URL of MBoard on YOUR server.

What is the URL of your installation? I can't find "Prayer request" link?

These are the current settings below I have as the file when saved became mboard121. I have tried also using just 'mboard' also 'mboard/mboard.php' also mboard121/mboard.php

Setting

Have solved the problem. Having posted last message thought about changing folder 'mboard121' to simply 'mboard' and hey presto it now works correctly.

Though I thought everything is working fine, there are still some problems. Having changed 'mboard121' to 'mboard' with success, I tried taking out mboard121 from the server, but it seems both are needed, which I don't understand.

Then when replying to a posting, I got a message informing me and could access that reply, but it does not appear in the main page. New postings come up but do not join the list of postings any more.

Have checked all the file permissions and msg is 777, the others all 666

Value help as I thought I had everything working fine

Further to the last post. It seems that the threading is possibly not functioning correctly. A reply to one topic got added to another topic and the other topics then were not showing. The Recent Posting heading doesn't appear active , should it be? Should there be some menu to use.( I see some reference to such in mboard.php)

seems to work ok? You can delete the mboard121 folder and just use this one.

Actually no!! It is not working OK as my last 2 notes said (which you may not have seen yet) there is a problem with the showing of the various postings. Replies go to the wrong original and do not show up correctly in the recent postings section.

I have also at your suggestion deleted the mboard121 folder and it doesn't work at all now. It seems that both mboard and mboard 121 have to be present.

Looking through some other listings on the message board I have checked on the php version used by my server and it is 4.3.10. I have asked for it to be incresed to 4.3.13 minimum as you recommend. Can this be the cause of my problems ??

I think it is a super program and ideal if I can get it working properly

Ah ! You wrote the asasasf postings !! I could see them alright and the replies you had put. But when I write something it comes up in the list but then if I write a reply and I click on 'go back' it goes back to the reply I have written and all the other messages are missing.

I have had to put mboard121 back in again for it to work at all. Strange.

There are about 17 messages in msg in the mboard folder, none in the mboard121 msg folder. But why aren't those messages in the msg folder not showing in the list under previous messages (which doesn't seem active) can you see them?

I guess I'm doing something wrong, but don't know what. Thanks for help

One more thing. if I quit my browser then start it again the messages I originally wrote show up but no replies listed

I think I have solved the problem. Threw out all mboard, mboard121 folders and started again. I now have 'mboard121' ONLY on the server and have changed the URL settings to "igniterevival.net/mboard121 and it seems to be working fine !!!! Wonderful

(The process was reading mboard121/mboard.php when posting, but when going "Back to Ignite..." it changed to mboard/mboard.php" and could only find this if both folders were in the server)
