Is written when I am trying to delete spam in my guestbook - What to do??? Please help!

Hello Titti,

If you are able to add new entries to the guestbook, it should already be set to 666 (rw-rw-rw-).
But please check again with your FTP program what value you entries.txt file has and if needed change it to 666 (rw-rw-rw-) like the message says.
And can you try if you can add a normal entry yourself?

PS. Klemen, can you move this to the right forum (GBook)?

I do not monitor the Gbook forums regularly anymore since I do not use the Gbook script myself anymore for a long time. But it helped me a lot in learning to understand php.

I am having the same problem. I have checked, my entries.txt and banned_ip.text are set to 6-6-6. Everytime I try to add a entry it says Can't open entries file for reading! CHMOD this file to 666 (rw-rw-rw) and make sure your host allows PHP scripts to read from local files!

Your host could have file reading functions disabled in php. Upload the phpinfo file to your server and place a link to it here, so we can check (get it here: viewtopic.php?t=83)
