Date expiry on entries

Post by ZS5Z »

I really enjoy using Gbook - it is a great script.

Any chance of the option to specify how long the entries remain in the guest book - eg autokill messages after 30 days?

I don't think this is possible with the current version of the guestbook because the date is stored as text. If the guestbook would have used a real database which stores the date and time in a date/time field this could have been done.

Greetings,
Henrie
I do not monitor the Gbook forums regularly anymore since I do not use the Gbook script myself anymore for a long time. But it helped me a lot in learning to understand php.

I understand the reasons for this not being possible, but it would be a great feature. What a pity :(

The other feature which would be great would be for the script to email a password (this could be a random number) to the person who posts to the guestbook which would allow them to delete their entry should they ever wish to.
