I'm using the version 1.6 gb which is designed to automatically block people who post URLs in the comments area. My spam setting is at "80." However, I changed hosts today and suddenly I can post URLs in the comments area! Does anyone know why? Does this have something to do with the read/write access?

First of all you should really upgrade to 1.7. Then if you want any help you should psot the information you were asked for so we can test it and have a look at the server setup:
