File attachments not working - READ THIS!

Note: The steps in this article work with HESK version 2.4.2 or earlier. This will not work with the latest HESK version!

The most common reasons for HESK attachments not working is: you have the wrong server/root path setting in your Hesk Settings.

To find the correct path try this:
1. download this file
2. extract path.php from the archive (the name is important, do not rename it from path.php) and upload it to your server inside your HESK folder
3. open the file in browser, for example http://www.yourdomain.com/support/path.php
4. copy the given path and enter it exactly as displayed to your Hesk Settings
5. click the "Save settings" button
6. test if attachments work now
7. delete path.php from your server!


If this doesn't work then either your attachments folder isn't writable by PHP scripts or your host doesn't support file uploads. In any case contact your host for help!
