Script URL: http://digera.liquidflames.org/gbook14/gbook.php
Version of script: 1.4
Version of PHP: 4
Hosting company: simplehost
Have you searched THIS FORUM for your problem: yes

If so, what terms did you try:

2 problems I've encountered upon successful installation of this script:

Typically, your entire homepage, including index.extension, doesn't have to be typed in. For instance, I type in http://digera.liquidflames.org to access my webpage, the 'index.htm' is understood by the server. After installing this guestbook script, I am required to type in the entire address or I get this:

Please setup the script : setup.php or refresh your browser : refresh.

clicking the setup.php link opens a screen full of tables, and refresh, well, refreshes. But typing in my homepage, plus /index.htm does the trick. Why would the script do that? and Is there a solution?

#2. When I try and delete an entry, it prompts me if I really want to. I say yes, and then it says to put in my admin pass, but there is no field for it. What happened to the pass field? That function works fine for the IP viewer, but not the entry delete. Why? Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance. Other than that, I have no complaints. I just want it to work, lol. It's a great non-sql script. thanks.

1. This has nothing to do with installing GBook, you probably changed the name of your index page or set some other page as index with htaccess. It works fine in gbook folder though:
http://digera.liquidflames.org/gbook14
opens the same as
http://digera.liquidflames.org/gbook14/gbook.php
Contact your host if you can't find out what's wrong.

2. You seem to have a quote and > encoded in your HTML code, have you been editing gbook.php whatsoever? Try uploading the original gbook.php again without editing it.

Thanks, I don't know what was wrong or what I changed, but somehow the admin pass field got deleted. I just took your advice, reinstalled it onto my webserver. Everything works now. Thanks again! Great script!

Well, actually, I was half right.

The script itself is working A-OK. The problem with the
"Please setup the script : setup.php or refresh your browser : refresh."
is well, still there, thus, a problem.
Recently, I changed my index.php to index.htm for testing a new format (the one you're seeing now). So maybe I should convert all my pages to php for conciseness and communicative wellbeing. Then I'll post back if it's still being difficult.

The other problem, the missing admin pass field, is fixed. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Like said, the "setup.php" opening instead of your index page has nothing to do with GBook, you should check what settings you have either in .htaccess or index page.

I found the problem. There was an index.php as well as a index.htm in the server root. haha.

It's fixed now. Thanks again for all your help Klemen
