A couple of suggestions

Hello,

OK, first of all, this script is superb - 3rd time I've said that, but it is - and the suggestions that follow do not imply anything adverse about it; they are just that - suggestions.

1) display number of entries before number of pages ie, '146 posts - page 1 2' etc and maybe navigation arrows for first, last, next and previous ( pages, that is, not posts )

2) 'subject' field - single line input field under name, location, email address etc

3) admin.php panel with username & password log in to enable deletetion / edit of posts and reply function - this would also preclude people trying to delete posts by tring to guess password

4) private posts option to be user selectable in settings file

5) user selectable option to show or hide ip address in settings file (but still log ip address or append to log file)

6) Is it possible to insert a line of text with smaller font size under the main Guestbook Title ? - I would like to notify users that any entries containing profanity, libellous stuff etc will be removed.

Some will read this and ask why don't I do this myself - well, if I could, I would - 'horses for courses', people, 'horses for courses'.

I am actually glad now that my Openbook gustbook got targeted by spammers - if that had not happened, I would not have found this.

Thanks very much,

zztb

Hi,

Just FYI: admin reply, private posts on/off and IP logging are already included in the next version, which is currently in beta testing. How long? 1-2 weeks maybe?

Hello,

Cool - you probably don't need it but for what it's worth, I would be happy to help with testing if that would be of any benefit.

It would be nice to help in some small way to 'put a little back in', as it were.

If everybody took and nobody gave, then eventually, there would be nothing to take.

Thanks for the offer, but I really don't need beta testers for GBook (I will need them for Hesk though which is a much more complicated script).

You can do your little bit by rating or (even better) reviewing Gbook at
http://php.resourceindex.com/detail/05414.html
and/or
http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/37192.html

Hello,

OK - happy to help with Hesk in due course.

Gbook reviews submitted to both sites.

Hello,

Just an addenum really how to accomplish no 6 on my suggestion list above (add line under header).

Don't use the guestbook header in settings.php ( 'gbook_title') - rather, just use html code in header.txt and upload that.

Easy, innit - I think these guys have thought of pretty well everything.

Hope this helps someone out.
