Same Password from other database?

Hi there,

Loving the new update of Hesk with customer option. However is there a way in that say I already have a registered user (customer) with an email and password on a different database. Is there a way that if they are already logged in to my site and visit the support page, then they can automatically see any of their tickets? i.e be automatically logged in to the Hesk service?

Right now it appears a user would have to create a separate password just for the support section.

At the moment, no, Hesk customer database is separated from any other databases you use.

We might add plug-ins in the future, but there are no guarantees when/if this will be added and what kind of databases it will support.

For what it's worth, you can manually import customers from time to time by using a CSV file (some examples are inside Hesk > Customers > Import customers).

EDIT
So I see their is a password field but the passwords in our other database are obviously not just in plain text format. So that's probably not possible to transfer over?

But this would not allow us to import a password? Correct?

You can, but you would need passwords in plain text to import them, which you most likely do not have.

I appreciate the response

I guess a lot of places have a separate username/password for their support sections so shouldn't be too bad.

Was just hoping to streamline it a little
