What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution: maintenance, pop fetching

Wanting to disable the ability for users to view / submit tickets via web --> so that that tickets created by email only.

Maintenance mode gets half way there as activating it disables web tickets but also unfortnately disables pop fetching

How do you enable pop fetching with Maintenance Mode active ? Or is there a better way to achive email only support?

Rather than messing with the maintenance mode operation, I would:
- delete index.php and ticket.php files from the main help desk folder
- place my own (or an empty) index file there
- edit email templates (Admin > Tools > Email templates) to remove any links to the help desk

Would staff / admin still have all same functionality as before?

Nope, those are used by customers only.
