email Templates: permissions problem

I get errors with permissions for editing the email templates. First I get that I need to change to 666.
Done. But now I get the error that there is no file existing... in FIlezilla I can't even access the emails-folder. I think thats cause of 666. But HESK said I should set it to 666 ? any help ?
