Klemen,
Happy Valentines Day. :D

I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful site with many helpful and FREE PHP Scripts that are being used by myself and many others.
I have been using your FREE Mboard PHP Message Board v.1.2 and the visitors to my website LOVE IT!!!
BUT, ONE thing that is TORMENTING me and others who have implemented your message board is the fact that
SPAMMERS are ALSO reading this FORUM like an OPEN BOOK
using POSTs which lists websites that are using FREE Mboard PHP Message Board. :o
In the last week, I have DELETED hundreds of SPAM Postings. At first they were limited to only the PUBLIC-General Discussion Topic. Here in the last few days, they have been able to GO DEEPER into the TOPIC list and POST SPAM there also.
I am pleading with you, Please support your mboard users with some form of Selective Word Authentication which can be ADDED to the current user's message boards and include this in the upcoming Revisions.
If ONLY to PROTECT your integrity and the continued compliments and the increasing usage of your FREE Mboard PHP Message Board.
Please consider writing the PHP code and offering it as an ADDON for current mboard users.
:D
Thanks, Jake :(

Hi,

I know about the problem, they have even started spamming the demo MBoard. I don't have any time at the moment, but will try to add something over the weekend.

Regards

Thank you Klemen! You are a Very Good Friend!

Klemen,
I appreciate your quick response to my request. I have myself been trying to write something to help resolve this problem, but I do not have the sufficient knowledge of php yet to undertake such a task. I came to you much as a last resort after having tried unsuccessfully to write the code.

I know you are very busy on more profitable projects, and I want to once again stress how valuable your scripts are to me and the web community as a whole. If it were not for your tireless and sometimes thankless efforts, much of what is available would not be, and we all would be lacking. Thanks again for your dedication and determination, as I will be applauding your works to one and all.

Thanks, Jake :D

Klemen,
I wanted to check back in with you on the progress of my request. There is no way I can continue admin on the enormous amount of spam being posted on my board.
Even when I moved it to another file space, seems they were able to still post.
If you have an update on the project of writing a word verification php script, please email me.

Thanks, Jake

Sorry Jake, but you must understand that commercial products have full priority for me over PHPJunkyard scripts. Will let you know as soon as it is added.

Klemen,
I have just completed the php coding for a CAPTCHA check against unwanted spam contained in Posting replies. :D
What I would like is for you to help with the implementation into mboard php script and defining the context of the event that allows a correct answer to proceed to the Post Reply page script.
If this is more than you wish to work with me on, then I will struggle through it a few more weeks.
The spam is getting more offensive and time consuming than I care to deal with.

Thanks for any help if possible
Jake :)

Hi,

For certain reasons and past experience I really prefer not to add other code to my scripts and write everything on my own. The spam is really getting offensive (even on the demo MBoard) so I hope I will be able to do something about it ASAP. In the meantime feel free to create a mod with your solution and even submit it to the "MBoard add-ons" forum.

Regards

Klemen

Have installed mboard 1.22 OK. Is it intended to have an anti-spam symbol as on gbook. If so have I missed something in settings or is it to come?

Thanks again

Stuart

If you mean the "Guestbook SPAM? No, thanks!" banner then no, MBoard doesn't have that.
