What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution: upgrade very old version 0.94 0.94.1

Write your message below: We need to upgrade from a very old version (0.94.1) to a new version compatible with PHP 7, but we do want to retain our existing support tickets, attachments, etc. Would you recommend a clean install of 3.1.2, then somehow migrate the data from the old database tables to the new? Or should we go through the normal upgrade procedure described in this document, even though this is such an old version: https://www.hesk.com/demo/docs/step-by-step-guide.html . Thank you!

The two databases are not compatible so just migrating the data from the old to the new one will not work.

The correct procedure is to follow the usual upgrade steps. Make 100% sure you have a full backup (files and database) before starting.

Thanks for the quick reply! From a process and data integrity standpoint, should we go straight to 3.1.2? Or upgrade to 2.8.7 first? Or does it matter? Thanks again!
