Hi


I am new here and I have blocked myself from making posts in guestbook! I closed the browsers and refreshed the guestbook and even reinstalled it, to no avail it remembered my email address and IP now I cant post! I was trying to tell folk to play nice and it blocked me and didn't even post it up!

what do I do to clear it please? I have it installed here

I tried posting and you have the guestbook set to manually approve posts.

Did you receive an email with a link to approve my post? Does that link work?

Yes indeed! I received a test post which I accepted, but when I post as my moderator admin email address it says I cant post at this time and it has done it 3 times so far. I check the banned ip text file and it is blank so I don't know. Thank you for testing it I want to buy it but it is no good if i cant post lol!

I just tried to post 2 further times under my non admin email and it would not let me post at this time either!

I just tried under my name as non admin and didn't fill out the website or area and it posted! for some reason it doesn't like it when you fill out the fields above the comments box. I also made a test post but it wont let me post under same session lol so it odd that it does that.

I see one of your tests went through.

What message exactly are you trying to post? Maybe it's triggering the spam filter?

Also, try disabling "One per session" by changing this in the settings file to

changed that now Ive set it to approve posts to prevent flooding of spammers comments and hacking. I had another comments script and I had received 45 spam posts and its in the database stored. I don't use that now as it doesn't have admin function. So I don't want spam or hacks in the guestbook either.

I tried another post filling in all the fields under my other site email address as katy and it said i culd not post at this time so I don't know wot is wrong with it? Yet if I just fill in name without filling in the fields it posts

can i ask u a totally unrelated question? Do the posts paginate after so many posted on one page please if not Id like to know how to get it all paginated and I'm new to php. I'm buying the script in a weeks time

GBook does a pretty good job of filtering the spam out, you might want to give it a try. You can always enable manual approval later.

Let me know *exactly* what you try to post (all fields) and get blocked, I will see if it's a spam filter trigger or something else.

You can send the above details in a private message if you prefer not to list it publicly.

GBook automatically creates pages after every 10 comments.

its ur name ; where are you from?; website : email and comment, it comes up with you can not post at this time and no ip is banned in the text file or by admin all I'm posting is text saying test post and the smilies, i put in my admin webmail address of my site which is xxxx for the admin email and I put that into the email field with my name admin from UK and website adriftindreams.com and it just comes up with you can not post at this time all the time. I changed the setting u suggested of the flood thing so we can post more than once now but it still not accepting the data in the fields

it is all the fields. I used gbook ages ago on one of my other sites and it worked fine and I don't know wot the issue is with the headings and comment it just wont post.

Hi I tried it again after waiting 5 minutes. I looked in the settings on u saying it culd be spam filter and I changed this setting
/ Use JunkMark(tm) SPAM filter (recommended YES)? 1 = YES, 0 = NO
$settings['junkmark_use'] = 0;

to no and its now posted up problem is i need the spam filter on the site to stop spam and it was treating my posts as spam maybe something in the website name is got a spam word in it or part of one as it was blocking me! what do I need to do to allow my admin posts and have the spam filter on please

I just tried again after waiting an hour and it was this setting here

/ JunkMark(tm) score limit after which messages are marked as SPAM
$settings['junkmark_limit'] = 500;

changed it from 61 to a higher number and it let me post thanks for your quick help and being friendly

JunkMark score is capped at 100 so setting it to 500 will never block any SPAM. 100 is max.

I can't be of further help unless you very specifically and clearly type what *exactly* you enter into each of the fields when it gets blocked.

don't worry. It was the JunkMark level stopping me from posting. I changed it to 100 like u said, now it is posting it all up
