Most parts of Hesk are multilingual. Unfortunately, I can not enter different languages when creating a category.
How can I make the categories of the service desk multilingual?

It is also not possible to add multilingual options on a custom checkbox field.
Is here a sullution for?

Unfortunately no, these are not supported for translation yet.

Now the service desk can never be made entirely multilingual. The problem is technically fairly easy to solve. When is this solved?

It is a quick win and now a missed opportunity

I completely agree, but unfortunately due to time restrains (I work on Hesk in my free time, not professionally) I need to prioritize between tasks and features.

I won't make any promises, but will see if I can include this in 2.8.x release I am working on now.

That would be great. :D

I am sure that many more people will use HESK.

This would certainly be useful.I have been configuring HESK for a while and at the moment it seems I need as many instances installed as there are languages, which is a shame since the software is almost entirely very nicely translatable.

Only places where I would really need the added translation option are:
  • categories
  • custom field values
  • Tools -> service messages
If these get the capability in the future, it might be useful if a category or a service message could be left blank for any language, since sometimes you want to show certain things to specific audiences only. Thus for service messages there would not need to be a fallback of any kind (just show no message box if not translated) - categories on the other hand already have a fallback procedure: if url contains a category that does not exist (or in this case is not translated to user language), user is redirected to the view where to choose another category.

Also possibility to translate these General settings would come handy but are not that critical:
  • Website title
  • Help desk title
  • «From:» name
I have been fixing the Finnish translation a bit but still need to check it before submitting. It has been translated by other people earlier so should I just send it to translate[]hesk.com or try to get in touch with them first?

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, we need to improve multi-language configuration options, but honestly, I don't think these will come in the near future as we are focusing our limited time and resources on other priorities.

You can send translations directly to the email as we don't list/share emails of previous translators.

That is understandable - it is a huge project to run on spare time and as the user base keeps growing, so does the amount of opinions on what is needed.
