Hi guys - I screwed up. I got lazy and used Softaculous to update from 2.7.1 to 2.7.3 and it appears to have done unkind things to my help desk. When I clicked the install URL, I just get a 403/Forbidden error screen. Naturally, because I backed out of the install, Softaculous now has no record of it as an installed script. I downloaded the 2.7.1 to 2.7.3 patch and applied that manually, as I've usually done in the past with good success - unfortunately, I'm getting the same error. Any idea what I did and, more importantly, how I can undo it? I should have a server backup from last night I can restore if needed, but hoping it's a simple fix to just get things going again.

Let me know at your convenience?

Thanks!

Jason

Hey guys - figured it out with the help of my hosting provider (A2 Hosting - can't recommend them enough). Apparently the Softaculous script added some AddHandler information to the .htaccess which is not valid. After it was commented out, I reapplied the patch, installed as normal, and everything is back to good.

For those that run into this, apparently Softaculous is aware of the issue and will be fixing accordingly. No matter to me...I'm going back to the tried and true method of doing it myself!

I am glad you figured it out.

I know updating can be a pain, so I try to keep patches as simple as possible: upload, open, click, click, done!
