I have installed Hesk 2.6 from Cpanel and when i go to setting in Hesk it says update available. When i click on update it ask to download the new version rather then updating on same installation. How can i update it without loosing my previous settings and customization.

For minor updates there are usually patches available (like from 2.6.7 to 2.6.8 ), but for larger updates (2.6 to 2.7) you indeed need to download the full installation file.

Then follow "Upgrading from old versions" instructions in the docs and all your settings/tickets/articles... will be preserved.
