What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution: PHO text hit counter

Write your message below:Just installed and having problems. Just upgraded to Windows 10 Pro. Actually Microsoft forced me to upgrade. Testing per the Installiation steps using Internet Explorer 11 when I do the http://mshepp.com/counter/counter.php?page=test I get a 1/2 page of garbage. Microsoft Edge gave me a similar problem. Google Chrome gave me document.write('5'); I added the code to one of my pages and both IE and Edge saying it was a unplubished script and would not load. Chrome does not give any errors but no hits are listed.

I just checked the file on the server and it has been updating but not sending or putting the information on the web page. Should there be a document.write(???); I saw nothing in the instructions except for the test which was returned by the script.

Been fooling with this too long now, time for bed. Trying to get rid of the webbots that FrontPage uses and replaceing them with what I can find. I did find a solution for the date the page was modified so one webbot is down. If I can get this working then a second one will be down.

Further checking this is what I get when doing the page=test part; The publisher of the counter.js couldn't be verified. Are you sure you want to run the program.

Then this error - Microsoft JScript runtime error - 'download' is undefined. Under the AppData/Microsoft/Windows/INetCache/IE/ I found a counter.js file and when I opened it with Notepad, which I got a security warning message but finially got it to open. It had "document.write('19');" meaning I ran the =test 19 times, which is correct.

I put the code on 2 of my web pages, the number are being updated each time I test but I get nothing added to the web page. The - // Print out Javascript code and exit - echo(document.write('{$count}');"); - exit();
is not putting anything on the page. I think it is because of the above errors.

I looked in all the other temp folders but could not find the file for either of the web pages I am testing so I don't think they are making it that far to be downloaded because of the Windows/IE security error because the publisher could not be verified. Nothing showing up when using Chrome either.

IE should show that error only on local pages, but not on pages uploaded to the server and accessed over the Internet.

I don't know any way around it except to adjust local security policies.
