Hi,
My host wants to upgrade from mySQL 5.5 to MariaDB in order to increase speed.
Question: Does MFH work a 100% with Maria DB?

I haven't had any problems with MariaDB, so you should be fine.

BTW: Is it really faster and would you choose MySQL 5.6 or MariaDB?
I am just not sure what to do

Honestly, I don't know of any advantages/disadvantages of using MariaDB over MySQL. It was just the database vendor of choice from my web hosting company, and it's working fine for me.

After using Maria DB now for about 2 weeks I had no issues.
