Where are entries awaiting approval stored

What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution: awaiting approval
I am wondering where the information is stored for messages which are awaiting approval. I am concerned that I wouldn't know about an entry if my email became unreliable at any point. I don't see such entries in the equivalent of the entries.txt file but I presume the information is stored somewhere for the entry to appear when it's approved.
