Please bear with me, I am a complete novice as to how this works. GBook 1.7 was one of the many scripts that were included as options from my webhost so I decided to download it from the MOJO marketplace (which has partnered with my webhost). The file is called "gbook1-7-install-kHvMHi" and it's a zip file. I unzipped it with ZipItFree and there were no folders, just all the files (css, php files, images, emoticons) all loose. I uploaded everything to a "gbook" directory on my server, then made my own "templates", "default", "images", "emoticons" folder and started moving them to these folders where I thought they belonged. I'm not sure exactly where everything goes (all the emoticon files obviously go in that folder and I read the Readme to see which files go in the default template folder, but that's about all I know). Of course I'm probably going through more trouble than I need, so I don't know if I downloaded the wrong file or used the wrong program to unzip it? Anyone have any ideas on how I could fix this? I'm not sure where for instance the entries.txt (which I renamed as suggested) file goes, or settings.php, smileys.php, etc.
HELP! No folders, where does everything go?
Re: HELP! No folders, where does everything go?
Hello jessm78,
If you have to download a zipfile anyway than you could try downloading the original Gbook from phpjunkyard.com, that way you know for certain that all the folders should be in there. The zipfile can be downloaded from this page http://www.phpjunkyard.com/php-guestbook-script.php
If there are no folders when unpacking maybe there is an option in your zip program to 'unpack with folders' or 'restore folder structure' when unzipping.
If you can not find that option, you might try 7-zip ( http://www.7-zip.org ) for unpacking, I use it often myself and I know for certain that it can unpack with the folder structure intact.
Greetings,
Henrie

I do not monitor the Gbook forums regularly anymore since I do not use the Gbook script myself anymore for a long time. But it helped me a lot in learning to understand php.
Re: HELP! No folders, where does everything go?
Hello Henrie,
Thank you so much for your help! Downloading the zipfile from the link you provided worked much better - I was able to unpack with all the folders remaining intact. I modified the settings.php file as I'd tried to do earlier, uploaded the files/folders to my server and everything works.
Thank you so much again!
