Another suggestion for upcoming versions (2.5.x, 2.6 etc.)
Having a category/department manager could be nice. He can be set when editing/creating a category
(i. e. by an administrator).
The manager will have permission to view/edit/reply/assign ALL tickets within his category
(regardless of his own permissions set). If he wants to view or move a ticket from/to another category where he is not manager, he will need the accordingly permissions.

Dont wanted to start a new thread about and since its related to Categories/Departments anyway...

Me has seen in another ITS script (which is assumed to be dead) that they have the possibilty of ticket control category-wise.
Meaning, for each category/department you can define what users/groups can do here, like read tickets, edit tickets, edit replies, delete, close, move etc.

Me is not asking to add it in hesk, just what you think of this.

Indeed something to add to HESK, but this will probably wait for the next large rewrite/redesign (version 3.0).

Just to add to the suggestion about permissions.
Yes, me knows several scripts that set ticket permissions per category/department.
As said, its maybe something for the mysterious Hesk v3, which is said to be so secret, not even our beloved boss knows when it will be ready

I'm not sure how many users would really need per-category permission management in HESK. I don't want to add too much to HESK as the main goal is keeping it a simple alternative to complex solutions

As edited above youre right, but as "simple alternative" Hesk is already to complex, lets call it "one of the best alternatives"
