mboard.php seems to to be deleting it's self and bringing my website down!

I have contacted my hosting company and they have reassured me they have not gone into my server to delete this.

I wonder, I have made some textual edits on the mboard.php for example changing the word topic to joke, as my website is a jokes board. The website seems to run fine after the edits, but after a few hours period I visit the site and get an 404 error to say that mboard.php could not be found... Are there vulnerabilities in the script or mboard.php file that allows someone to get in and delete the file or is it caused because of my edits, and if so, why doesn't the file delete instantly if this is the case.

I have now change my server login details and will see what happens...

Also, is it possible for me to change the name of mboard.php file to funnyjokes.php if so, what other changes need to be done so the website continues to function without errors.

Thanks!

MBoard can't delete itself.

Talk to your web host again - ask them if they have an antivirus scan running that is deleting any PHP script with "eval base64_decode" inside. Some antivirus scans will quarantine (or delete) any such PHP script because many hacking scripts use the same technique to hide source code.

Hi Klemen,

I was not able to login to this forum earlier, and so I sent you an email with a problem that has arisen from renaming mboard.php to index.php and then making suggested changes within the renamed index.php file.

The problem is, when I delete post from the front end of the mBoard, the .htm files remain on the msg folder ?

... Also, what is happening now, is that the messages posted on the board is not completely appearing in the .htm files in the msg folder. Only only some text shows and the reply form does not appear either on new posted jokes ?
