Script URL:
Version of script: Gbook 1.7
Hosting company:
URL of phpinfo.php:
URL of session_test.php:
What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution:
Searched the message board under iframe, pages and other topics - tried to find page size in gbook.php file, but i have no idea what i'm doing as far as php code goes.

Write your message below:
With the help of your magnificeint script, FTP & CHMOD Tutorials and excellent read me file I was able (to my amazement, to get the Gbook up and running on my site contained in an iframe. The iframe idea came from my hosting company.

My only question is this. Right now the iframe is width-800, height =950, but when i tested it with more than a few posts it gives me a vertical scroll bar. What will happen when it reaches more posts that occupy more than 1 page of the Gbook?

Is there a certain height I can set the iframe to prevent the vertical scrollbar from appearing so that users can view more than 1 page (if i ever get that much feedback)

thanks very much for your help. I haven't gotten any spam since installing gbook several weeks ago, congratulation on a great piece of software (and the easy to follow instructions to use it)

thanks for your help - Novice1

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there is no perfect height.

When 10 posts are reached GBook will show old ones on new pages. However, some pages may be short (10 short posts) and some may be looooooooooooooong (10 long posts) so the height may differ substantially between pages.

My advice is to do some trial and error - reduce/enlarge height when GBook gets some more posts to see what works for you and keep in mind that the vertical scroll bar cannot fully be avoided when using iframes.

Thanks very much for clariying the iframe size and how the script determines page size. Very much appreciated.
I'll just have to experiment a little more to get a size that fits most pages.

Thanks for your help. I like the software very much.

The original of the script suggested by jayceegee can be found here http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicinde ... messi2.htm

Thanks Henrie for the suggestion!!

It would solve my problem completely but it is all a bit too much coding for me to understand! So, I guess I will stick with Klemen's suggestion and just find a size that works most of the time. I don't get that many comments anyway to really worry about it too much!

Thanks for your help. You guys are terrific!

unfortunately, though this script has worked wonders for me in the past, it's of no use with this guestbook.
Going from message overview to posting a new message doesn't actually load a new page in the iframe which means it keeps the size from the message overview.

kinda sad, it really is a good script for other purposes :(
