Just tried around with translation packs on Hesk 2.3 and realized, if I delete a language pack via FTP on the server hesk/language/... and this language is in use i get a server error.

Now i'm a bit scared, because I want to upgrade a 2.2 Version to 2.3. On this installation we use several languages, which are not available yet for 2.3.

When updating to 2.3 language is automatically set back to English by default and other laguages need to be installed again.

If you get an error it's because you're trying to use an unsupported language (deleted files), you can try forcing back to English by opening

yourhelpdesk/index.php?language=English

Thank you very much for the hint with forcing back language. So, I'll upgrade soon.
