Hi all,

As some of you have noticed this support forum has been hacked by someone who calls himself "Zec". I was going to write full of *****!/()&#%!%&$&%/"#$%/ about this person, but I wont.

Anyway, the support forum is back online.

I guess nobody knows what's going on inside their heads

Haven't had problems since March though (knock on wood), am upgrading phpBB now regularly to make sure any vulnerabilities are fixed.

I have had this done to me many times.

The way I dealt with it was to make sure I had a back up of my stuff so that when I got hacked I was able to restore it within the hour or so.

Eventually the idiot gets bored and moves on.

Yea, now I try to regularly backup the forum and make sure I install all the recent updates. No problems since (knock in wood)...

Hacking

Did he hack your admin, or just post all over the forum.

As your forum allows non members to post it is easy enough to do, look at me, I would recommend changing this so members have to sign up.

Second is to assign a couple of moderators to each topic.

Third is to go into server and make admin directory protected, and assign a user for this with username and password. This is solution to a lot of hacking problems.

I may not know php well, but I do know how to run websites.

:P

Hi,

No the forum was hacked due to a bug in phpBB, I now update it regularly to it seems to be ok.
