banning IPs...

Hello!

I'm running 1.5 and going to upgrade to 1.7. I have a question about banning IPs...

To ban an entire range, can I simply change the numbers in an entry from, say, %87.120.215.220% to %87.*.*.*%? Does the entry %8*.*.*.*% work? I'm getting spam from some unsecured server in spain (.es is Spain, I think) and I want to simply turn off the entire range...

Hello N_R,

Judging from this post viewtopic.php?t=3198 it is not implemented.
Also from what I see in the code it checks on full strings and does not take wildcards (but I am not a very experienced php programmer, so I could be wrong).

Greetings,
Henrie

Like Henrie said, it's not implemented. You can try using .htaccess to ban an IP range instead.
