Need Help to remove a banned address
Re: Need Help to remove a banned address
Hello islandgroveart,
First close your browser.
Then remove your own ip-address from the banned_ip.txt file.
Start your browser, you should not be banned anymore.
Greetings,
Henrie

I do not monitor the Gbook forums regularly anymore since I do not use the Gbook script myself anymore for a long time. But it helped me a lot in learning to understand php.

Re: Need Help to remove a banned address
Thanks Henrie,
Do I do this from somewhere on this site? I can't access my Guest book from my own site. Sorry, I am a little confused.
Cheers,
Gail

Re: Need Help to remove a banned address
Hi Gail,
No, you have to open the file banned_ip.txt in a text editor (notepad or PSPad or something like that). Therefore you will have to download it from your server through ftp or whatever method you use to transfer files from your webserver. The file banned_ip.txt can be found in your guestbook folder.
Now remove your own ip-address from the banned_ip.txt file.
Reupload the edited banned_ip.txt file overwriting the one on your webserver.
If you have not done it, close your browser.
Start your browser, you should not be banned anymore.
Greetings,
Henrie
