Links Manager Link Checking: What does it do

When links manager checks the links for verification from the admin panel, Does it check for "nofollow" attributes in addition to the actual link presence?
I mean:
Robots nofollow page attribute and rel="nofollow" link attribute?
I mean:
Robots nofollow page attribute and rel="nofollow" link attribute?
