As I said in the previous post, I'm in the process of setting up mboard and whould also like to know is there a way to have LaTeX support for writing properly mathematical formulae?

The simplest way I can think of is to allow execution of the following code:

<img src=”http://www.forkosh.dreamhost.com/mimete ... _Code_Here” alt=”" />

For instance, place the following code in the command line of the browser:

<img src=”http://www.forkosh.dreamhost.com/mimetex.cgi?frac {a} {b}” alt=”" />

Is it possible to have the above code executed when posting a message?

Writing Latex support is a complicated thing, you might want to try to find some ready latex parsers
