Help! I was manually adding some new messages to this guestbook (from an older site), and suddenly I am getting a message: ERROR: We don't like spammers. You have been permanently banned from this guestbook!.
I've deleted my IP from the banned_id.txt......
What do I do now?
Thanks.

Hello a1000w,
First close your browser.
Then remove your own ip-address from the banned_ip.txt file.
Start your browser, you should not be banned anymore.
Greetings,
Henrie
Not Working

Thanks, but after doing this numerous times over 2 days.... doesn't make a difference..... can get into guestbook, but cannot add a message..... no matter what.

It works here when i ban myself (for testing purposes).
What browser are you using?
In the past it has been mentioned that using Opera causes a higher Junkmark score which caused a ban. You could try setting the $settings['junkmark_limit']=61; to a higher value.
If you only need some time to add old messages, you could set $settings['junkmark_ban100']=0;. This way the automatic ban feature is disabled.
It is however a 'quick fix' but is not a real solution to your problem.
Maybe you can post a message (you placed that caused a ban in your guestbook) here in this forum. This way i can try to reproduce your problem and maybe find a solution.
Greetings,
Henrie
Trying to Post This Message

OK, thanks. Here's the old message we're trying to post....
"(This was posted on 3/26/09.)
I love the blood bank.It is wonderful. Our great Pyrenees BooBear donated and loved it. He passed April 2002 the day before his birthday and him donating for the last round. Then my daughter got her Leonberger Dakota and as soon as she was old enough she started donating. Our dogs have loved it. BooBear got so excited every time he gave blood. They both loved everyone there.
Sadly Dakota has cancer in her leg and has just had 2 surgeries and skin graft in the last month, and the graft has partially died and she will have another surgery but they are trying to save the other 1/2 of the graft. We will miss you all.My daughter Jackie is a Vet. tech and sees the importance of donating. She has gotten a few others to join EVBB and tells lots of people about donating. Please if you read this, donating is of benefit to everyone the dogs and people who's family members are saved and the donor themselves. You get tests that would never be done until they were sick so you can catch things early plus regular vet checks plus the dogs love it and the cookies and the attention and on and on.
Thank you EVBB for your love of animals especially your treatment of ourBooBear and Dakota."
That's the whole message... I've checked all my settings and have turned off ban100 for the time being. I entered this myself just a few moments ago, but got an Error:You cannot sign this guestbook at this time!
I'm a pretty experienced webmaster, but this one's got me stumped.
P.S. Don't use Opera. Use Maxthon. (Like explorer)

Hi there,
I ran a few test and this was actually a problem with the SPAM filter. Some words in your specific post have triggered the SPAM filter and mistakenly marked the message as SPAM.
I updated the SPAM filter, please download GBook again and just upload the updated gbook.php file again. Don't upload any other files and you will keep your current entries and modifications to the header/footer and style.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Did That

Tried again... reloaded gbook.php. Got in... typed in message..... got:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING, expecting ')' in /home7/evbbcom/public_html/guestbook/badwords/en.php on line 22
Went to the en.php and fixed it. Works now. Thanks for your help.

Works on my local copy too.
2 Klemen:
I had just finished decoding the junkmark code to see what could be triggering the ban.
I did notice the return in the start, but did not expect that to be the problem.
Thanks for fixing this, i would never have found it.
Greetings,
Henrie

OK, it's really fixed now. With the previous "fix" Junkmark stopped working completely (thanks Henry for noticing the returns are missing - this wasn't the problem at all)!
So, please download GBook... again... and just upload the updated gbook.php file... again. Don't upload any other files and you will keep your current entries and modifications to the header/footer and style.
Sorry, this happens when I work quickly during late hours after a tough week at work and without proper testing
