Verification email address

Hi Klemen,

We find that many people enter an incorrect email address. I have thus made my 1st custom box a repeat email address box. It is unreal how many clients make typing errors. This leads to the time consuming effort to phone the client and get the correct info.

It is humbly suggested the an email verification box is inserted just above the submit button.

Thanking you kindly.

I have similar experience with my usage of Hesk and something similar is planned for the next version. It will be a setting that will allow you to require customers to confirm their e-mail address before the ticket is actually submitted. It will also probably have an option to require this only the first time and then store valid e-mails in the database for the future.

Cool idea - I would use this feature as a good 60% of my customers get their own email address wrong....

Adding a custom field for email verification is a good idea although it does not compare the contents with the standard email field so it is not perfect.

Hi Klemen,

Please consider this seriously for next edition. When incorrect emails are submitted they are returned as bounced emails. We operate about 150 ticktes a day and it gives us 10% bounced emails.

If this happens we are immediately blocked as spam.

Please consider the info at this link:

I believe that email verification will reduce the problem.

Thanking you kindly.

This will definitely be added because, like said, I have the same experience.

Regarding your bounced e-mails - one thing you should reconsider is using the "Thank you for your email" autoresponders. I personally don't like such autoresponders, it may be one of the reasons why you re getting banned by spam filters and it also doubles the amount of bounced e-mails you get (it bounces the original message as well the autoresponder).

Hi Klemen,

You are absolutely right. I have a few autoresponders active. I forgot about them. Thanks for reminding me. I am sure it will help.

Hesk users should also take notice of this.

Warm regards from South Africa.

Regards.
