General question regarding: Search Engine Optimation
Since Gbook is an addon:, it does not seem to be indexed by the search engines.
It is very important for me that it will be indexed because it is virtually the only page with regularely new content.
Is there any solution for this?
Help is much appreciated.

Hello monte,
It does get indexed. And it even gets a pagerank (at least the demo guestbook of phpjunkyard does, my guestbooks do not get a pagerank).
For example, look for "Georgie phpjunkyard" in Google. This results in finding an entry in the demo guestbook.
Greetings,
Henrie

Hello Henrie,
Thanks, we could have this discussion in Dutch but then the other members of this forum would be at a loss
But why does your guestbook doesn´t get a pagerank?
That is exactly my concern .........

GBook gets indexed just like any other page. Yours is indexed in Google, see:
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3ah ... fgbook.php
Note that PageRank is updated only few times per year and in order to get pagerank it needs to get enough links from pages with pagerank. Last time it was updated was in May-June.
We are talking about Toolbar PR of course, not the real one which is supposed to update constantly.

Ah Klemen, that is such a relief. I worked very hard on my site and was afraid that I needed to invent some tricks to get googles attention. But I refuse blackhat techniques so this is very good news.
Thanks very much, and when you come to Portugal I´ll buy you a FEW (or loads of) beers

One thing I learn when working with search engines in all these years: you need to be veeeery patient as it usually takes years to get some real results.
I just might come to holidays to Portugal in the next few years

Well, Klemen, if you come, the best place to stay is of course
http://montehorizonte.com and I might even give you a discount, as well as other members of this forum.
But the beers are on my acount
Cheers,
Bert
P.s. just wondering if the indexing of my guestbook will be noticed as a page on my site or as a seperate standing alone page, which would do me no good this way.
