Hi there.
I installed linkman as instructed and it seems to work fine, even the
admin screen works 100%
I went to install it and everything worked till after I had to type in the
security code... Then it gave this error.. Can't open remote URL!
I made sure the url I said my link was on was 100% and made sure to add it to the page.
What else could cause the problem.

Thanks.

Thank you for your reply.

I've also tried re-installing it and looking elsewhere for an answer but couldn't find anything.

Here's the info you require.

phpinfo.php is at: http://www.getoptimized.co.za/linkman/phpinfo.php

session_test.php: http://www.getoptimized.co.za/linkman/session_test.php

session_test2.php: http://www.getoptimized.co.za/linkman/session_test2.php

I hope I've put them in the right location.

Thank you very much for the help.

Hi,

The problem is you have allow_url_fopen disabled in your PHP installation. Contact your host and ask them if they can enable allow_url_fopen for you (or if you have root access you can do it yourself in the php.ini file).

Thanks

Thank you Klemen.

I'll get right on it and let you know if I have anymore problems.

I doubt it for it really looks like a good script.

Seems to work here, have been able to add a link to
http://www.getoptimized.co.za/linkman/links.php

Make sure your reciprocal URL is VALID and EXISTS and has the reciprocal link ON. I tried with this reciprocal page:
http://www.phpjunkyard.com/extras/gettest.htm

Regards,

Unfortunately allow_url_fopen is impossible for my free host

Unfortunately that happens a lot with free hosts...
