Replies: Colors and Sorting

I would like to change the order of replies.. I would like newest replies to appear above the older replies..
I would also like to either:
*have the admin/staff reply cells a different color than the customer replies
OR-
*have the cells alternate in color..
is there an easy way to accomplish this?
