I have recently change the max number of posts on my settings.php page due to the fact that I had reached the former limit. After doing so, I noticed that the threads.txt file is now blank and is updating with the newer messages posted after the limit change. Is this supposed to happen?
Thanks

No, just changing the limit doesn't empty threads.txt and that shouldn't happen. Did you upload the blank threads.txt file again when uploading the changed settings file?

No, the only file I downloaded was settings.php. At the time the max post was set to 1000. During that time, the count.txt file was at 1255. I had bumped up the max post to 2000, then uploaded the file.
The file is also configured to keep the old messages.
The posts still exist in the msg directory. Any way to recreate that txt file?
Thanks for the quick reply.

Hi,
Unfortunately it is not possible to rebuild the threads file.
I strongly suggest you quit using MBoard and find a forum with MySQL database. MBoard was designed as a small forum and since you have 2000+ posts you should consider using something more robust and secure then a text database forum! Text databases are unfortunately not powerful enough to handle busy forums.
Thanks

I think you're right. I'll look into the options. This script was used for a website dedicated to a little boy who had cancer of the brain stem.

He has since past away and we miss him very much. Your script has provided the family and friends from all over to lend support to the parents every day. It has helped out greatly.
Thanks for your efforts. I'll keep checking the site.
