Okay, I reluctantly admit I'm an idiot. The subject of these emails was "New Guestbook Entry". I just installed GBook recently and I thought the emails were coming from there. They were not. The offending party has been blocked from my server, but not until I received about 250 emails. My apologies.

I updated my GB a while back in September of '08 and it seems like this year I've been getting a tremendous amount of spam, almost one a day, sometimes two a day. I thought this version was suppose to be SPAM blocked...that verification code must not have much of a leg to stand on since the spam is getting by it so easily. I've deleted several and am always sure to block the IP in hopes that it would help, but it doesn't seem to.

Is the next version due out anytime soon with a better SPAM blocker?

Not blocking much SPAM, huh? Try disabling the verification image and JunkMark filters then let it ride for a few days. You will be surprised how much SPAM it actually is blocking.

I can't say when the next version will be out, but each new version does have improved SPAM blocking (as SPAM evolves so do blocking techniques).

I assume you didn't test tricks such as switching image colors as suggested several times on the forum (also in page 5 of this topic)...
