Works for me with both cookie settings to HIGH and MEDIUM? Have you got any other software that could be blocking cookies (for example Norton)?

No, I'm not using any other software or PlugIns for my IE.
Currently running on my system:
FireWall (ZoneAlarm)
AntiVir PE
This behaviour doesn't occur only on my "main" PC, also on my other one and on the machine of a friend of mine (sitting 700km away from me) - and only in combination with "Internet Explorer".
I had a similar problem one year ago in my former company. I was filling out a form and need to enter a security code - again and again and again... There I had a PC with Win 2K and IE 6 ...
Hmm... but wait - one thing is identical on both machines.
I installed "Ad-Aware" and "Spyware-Blaster", to remove Spyware. The tool "SpywareBlaster" installs some kind of "protection" for the Win-Registry and Browser-Settings ... but as far as I know this is installed for IE AND Firefox...
Don't have any other idea ...

Well I'm using both AntiVir PE and Ad-Aware but no problems for me. Since it works for other people it must be some local PC problem. Not sure what SpywareBlaster does though
What you can try is to go to Internet options > Privacy > Advanced and select "override automatic cookie setting" and select "Always accept session cookies". Then reboot computer and see if it works for you.

Hello Klemen,
I also guess it is a local problem and it has something to do with the IE browser settings. I already have "Always accept session cookies" activated, so it must be something other... will go on searching.
Thanks a lot for your help,
Karl
Security Code problem

I'm having the same problem with the security code. I followed the installation instructions and when I get to the anti-spam screen and fill in the number, it just keeps endlessly giving me a new one and never lets me add the entry to the guest book. Here is the url:
http://gayspaces.org/gbook/gbook.php
I tried it in Firefox which is my browser, but I also tried IE. No luck. I downloaded Henries update to see if that would help and it didn't. A friend tried to install it with the same results. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Note: I still have this problem, don't know what to do. I start thinking about installation of an other guestbook...

This might sound a bit rude but want to say it anyway:
1. LairBear there is no need to post 3 posts about the same problem and e-mailing me. I don't provide e-mail support for the free scripts.
2. Ravey nobody forces you to use my GBook script, there are hundreds of others out there. The scripts are free, I don't get paid anything for you using it or for providing support, but I still give it away for free AND provide support when I can.
3. If GBook works fine for thousands of users then this is not a problem with GBook, but with your installation/server setup. I would be happy to have a look at your system settings (as I have done numerous times for numerous users in the past), please upload
http://www.phpjunkyard.com/extras/phpinfo.zip
and post a link here.
4. Have you tried other solutions mentioned in this topic?
That's for start, we will work from phpinfo on.
Regards

Klemen,
I apologize for posting more than once. I have never used one of these forums before. And I know you don't post support for free software and I certainly appreciate you taking the time to respond. As I said, I'd gladly pay for this software if I can get it working.
I have tried most of the suggestions posted here with no luck. I uploaded the file you asked me to and here is the link:

Thanks again.

Hi,
See if using this GBook file makes any difference:
www.phpjunkyard.com/extras/gbook135_noreg.zip
Just upload over the old one, close ALL browser windows, including this one (to clear any browser sessions) and try again.
If that doesn't work upload this test files to your GBook folder:
www.phpjunkyard.com/extras/session_test.zip

I tried the first option with no luck. The test files are uploaded to:

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Seems like your host is having some problems with session being transferred between pages. Can you please contact your host and ask if PHP sessions work ok? I suggest you give them this test URL:
http://www.gayspaces.org/gbook/session_test.php
They can look at the source code of session_test.php and session_test2.php to confirm this is the simplest possible PHP session code and it doesn't work correct ($_SESSION['test'] should be set to TRUE on second page).

Guestbook issue

I received this reply from my isp:
I have no idea what is causing this. I fixed the thing they asked.
They changed something so now I can make the entry, enter the anti0-spam code and it accepts it, but it doesn't get posted to the guestbook. If you try to view it, it says there are no entries in the book. I checked the entries.txt file and it IS set to 666. Any other suggestions? My isp doesn't know where to go from here and neither to do.

Hi,
Upload this to your gbook folder:
http://www.phpjunkyard.com/extras/gb_test.zip
Maybe it will give some clues why is that happening.

OK done. The url is
http://gayspaces.org/gbook/gb_test.php
My isp told me I should install phpMyAdmin so I downloaded it from the web and put it on my site, but they wouldn't tell me how to set it up. I hope I don't need it.
