We have been using the Hesk help desk successfully for quite some time now. I just upgraded to version 2.3 hoping that we can get email piping to work, the problem is that we use Gmail for our company email. Is there a way for us to set up email piping with Gmail?
I did do some searching and did find the Email piping setup guide however with Gmail we do not have a cPanel.

I'm afraid not. With 2.3 you need control of the mail server to pipe emails. I will add pop/smtp piping to a future release and that might work for gmail, but for 2.3 it's the only way to set it up locally on the mail server.

We utilisont our own SMTP server and we do not use cpanel.
this feature of version 2.3 is really interresting.

My sysadmin don't know how setup email piping that send email from email box to email pipping..

If the server uses Exim a good guide is at the end of this page:

I have created a work around for the email piping. It currently doesn't support attachments but it works great.

I don't have the specific address of my tutorial but browse to www.pearsondevelopment.com and look for the tutorial on the email piping alternative.

I can provide more info there.

It is still in progress, so use the contact form if you need more info.

The only requirement is that you can run a cron job which 99% of hosts allow.

We are still using Hesk, still as awesome as ever
Our version is 2.5.5
Is it now possible to get email piping to work with a Gmail for business account?
Basically it would be really helpful if staff can send an email that is turned into a ticket.

You can setup POP3 fetching for Gmail:

Just make sure you obey the "Important" part in second article to make sure your existing emails don't get converted.
