File attachments not working - READ THIS! Pt 2

Post by aj84 »

Hi all,

Been a long while since I posted here...so much so that I've since got a new email account altogether and don't even remember my old login details :-)

Been scratching my head over file attachments not working. Came across the File attachments not working - READ THIS! thread but it did not help in my case.

The error I got was "Cannot move file to the attachments folder, please check your server path settings"

Finally found a solution - it was as simple as disk space! I've had a cron job setup for a daily backup on the hosting company's server and over-time, the backups built up in size until I exceeded the 500MB allowance to around 650mb. Thankfully it seems it doesn't buckle altogether in that tickets have been logged fine for the past 4 months where the disk seems to have filled up but attachments naturally could not write to the folder due to lack of space.

Might be something to think about if you have a similar issue :- )
